Welcome to Family Times!

Adventure starts here

The Christchurch Adventure Park (CAP) is great for those seeking to hone their skills on a bike, fly on the ziplines or get in touch with nature on the walking trails.

Whether you’re looking for thrills, a leisurely ride with friends, or keen to get your young charges hooked on riding, CAP is a mountain-biking mecca, with trails to suit all ages and abilities.

Not only is mountain biking fun and social, it also supports youngsters to grow an appreciation for nature alongside the adventure. It builds physical capabilities, like coordination and strength, as well as dispositions, like perseverance and confidence.

The CAP village has a pump track as well as a kids’ loop trail specially designed as a fun and safe trail for little riders – and both trails are free to use. For families without bikes, CAP has bikes for all ages available to hire. CAP also offers coaching clinics during term times and school holiday programmes over the breaks.

For a ride that requires no exertion, the chairlift is the longest in New Zealand and boasts some of the best views of Canterbury. And did you know that kids under 10 are FREE to ride the chairlift and trails when accompanied by an adult?

If you’re keen on some exercise as a family, take a walk on either of the two free walking trails, the forest loop trail, or the uphill hiking trail. If you decide to take the uphill trail, you can choose to come back down the chairlift for free.

CAP also has a fully licensed café and bar with a delicious all-day menu and great coffee. With its large covered deck and scenic outlook, it’s the perfect spot to refuel during your day of adventure.

Only 15 minutes from the city centre, Christchurch Adventure Park offers adventure on every level for everyone in the family.
