Create a themed art display area for a kids’ room using stencils, plastic toys and Resene paint colours.

You will need:

• Stencils
• Glue
• Jars with a lid 
• Paintbrush
• Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer
• Plastic toys
• Cork pinboard
• Resene testpots
• Masking tape

Dinosaur storage jar lids

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1
Paint a thin layer of Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer over the outside of the jar lid and your plastic toy and leave it to dry.

Step 2
Glue the dinosaurs’ feet to the lid and then set aside until the glue is set.

Step 3
Paint the outside of the lid and the dinosaur with your choice of Resene paint colours. Depending on the colour, you may need to do two coats.

Instructions:

Step 1
Carefully tape your stencils in place with masking tape, so they don’t move.

Step 2
Paint over the stencil with the Resene paint of your choice.

Hint
For a crisper result, use the pencil to draw around the dinosaur stencil and then use an artist’s brush to paint it in. You can also add a few dots in a contrasting colour.
