The Christchurch Adventure Park (CAP) is great for those seeking to hone their skills on the bike or enjoy the thrills of zip-lining while also providing fun challenges for the younger members of the family.
Mountain biking supports youngsters to grow an appreciation of nature along with a spirit of adventure. CAP provides biking adventures suited to all ages and abilities. The pump track caters to all riders, while the kids’ loop track has been especially designed as a fun, safe trail for little riders – and both trails are free to use. For those without bikes, CAP hires out kids’ bikes suited to this sort of trail.
Sitting proudly on the Port Hills, CAP offers adventures in nature while sprinkling a little magic here and there: the younger kids will enjoy discovering the whimsical fairy homes in the forest.
For an uplifting experience that requires no exertion, the chairlift is the longest in New Zealand and affords views out over Canterbury and the Pacific Ocean. Best of all, under 10s ride for free. If you’re keen on some exercise as a family, though, take a walk on either the free forest loop trail or the uphill trail and then catch the lift down for free.
Once your young charges have burnt off some energy, they’ll be ready for a break at the café, which offers a kids menu, as well as great coffee for parents.
The best place to give kids an appetite for adventures in nature, there really is something for all the crew at CAP.
